Description

The RAINSAVERMK4E is an automatic rainwater/mains water changeover device designed to provide seamless mains backup for pressure pump supply systems. It is intended for use alongside a pressure pump that is equipped with an independent pressure and flow controller with loss-of-prime protection.

Operation

The RAINSAVERMK4E supplies clean rainwater from a rainwater tank via an automatic pressure system pump to household applications such as toilets, laundry, and garden taps. Mains water is also connected to the RAINSAVERMK4E to provide automatic backup if the rainwater level is too low or in the event of a power or pump failure.

If a pump failure occurs, mains backup can be activated by switching the RAINSAVERMK4E off at the power point. A low-voltage float switch is included to prevent the pump from running dry and enables automatic switch-over to mains supply when the water level in the tank is insufficient.

The RAINSAVERMK4E controls pumps up to a maximum of 1.5 hp (1.1 kW) at 240V. It can handle water temperatures up to 40°C for both mains and pump supply. The maximum recommended continuous pump flow is 100 litres per minute, with a maximum recommended pump pressure of 800 kPa and mains inlet pressure of 800 kPa. The included low voltage float switch operates at 12V and comes with a 10-metre cable, with an optional "finger" type float switch available. The power supply lead is 2 metres long. The unit is backed by a 2-year warranty.
